European Commission approves €2.27 billion renewable incentive plan by Greece

The European Commission on Wednesday (Nov. 22) approved a plan to provide a 2.27 billion euro in aid to Greece's renewable energy production, the Greek Daily News reported on Nov. 25. The Greek government's plan is to support new energy generation capacity of 4.5 gigawatts (GW) of wind, photovoltaic (PV), hydropower and biomass through competitive tenders and direct incentives, so that the share of renewable energy production will reach 61% by 2030.
